Mike is rather like Hansel in the witches house in Hansel and Gretel. Each day he pokes a skinny finger out and we all try to fatten him up. Must have been a record today: Three regular meals, about five high fat and protein drinks, I took a muffin out, Tracy took a baked kumara to heat up and Cousin David really hit the spot with Burger King!
Mike's walking continues to strengthen. He walked from his room to the day room with no walking frame, just some stabilising hands from the physios and me trotting along behind with a chair for him to rest on half way. So we were really pleased with that. The balance takes a great effort and at the end of that walk he was exhausted.
Regards
Lee

Good work mate,
Keep it up. I don't know about the benefits of the burger king, but it tastes good anyway.
See ya, Paul.
Good on you! Neat to see you on Sunday, Mike. Greg said several times on our way back - words to the effect of - "so do you get it now Mum, do you see how much Mike is progressing . ."
I get it!
Look forward to seeing you again soon.
love Janne
A late comment but a very happy one Mike! At this rate I'll expect to see you arrive on my doorstep any morning soon for breakfast! And crying, "Coffee! Give me coffee!" A little run over Hayward's will be nothing to you! Love, Gran.
Hi Mike,
Just amazing to watch the progress you have been making over the last few weeks. And great to also see that you now able to start enjoying some of the pleasures the rest of us take for granted!!
You are an inspiration.
Kind regards
John

Hi Mike
Liz and i just had a weekend walking in the forests at Rotorua. We were a little concerned when we checked a route on Friday to be told there were 4000 mountain bikers sharing the forest with us. They were all in and about the Waipa Mill so our walk down the Lynmall through the forest planted in 1901 to the Redwoods was uneventful as was our walk from the Taupo rd to the Green and Blue Lakes. Iam sure you will have biked thru their with JB.
Enjoy those lattes and muffins.
Cheers Phil Winstone
Hello Mike, Lee, Bryce, Tracey and Phil - I haven't had a chance to read your blog for a couple of weeks and am sooo impressed with your progress, Mike. What good advice re learning and "saving to the hard drive". Also, love the "pass/fail" comment of Lee's - I think even if the tasks are not p/f, it doesn't hurt to have that grit and determination you are clearly showing. This is what winners are made of and you are clearly winning!
All our love and keep going, Barbara and Don
