3rd Post - 1st Drive

Hi guys,

Saturday 28th May was a milestone day or, in my Dad's words, a PB. I had my first car ride with Mum and Dad. The ride through the Hutt (from the hospital) was (fortunately) uneventful.

There was some nervousness as it is common for head injury patients to get nausea. Fortunately, I was not inflicted with that problem. All I had was some dizziness and it was gone by the time we got home. Unfortunately, the ride wore me out and I was stuffed afterwards.

For those of you who know the Hutt, we went up to the Wainui hill lookout and the Petone foreshore for a coke (I had to get some caffeine in there somewhere). We also checked out two houses that I grew up in (neither had changed much).

The ride, along with my first weight measurement over 60 kilos the day before, felt like more of a return to normality,

Kind regards,
Mike

Way to go Mike, you never know where this caffine addiction will take you :-)
When was the last time you went for a Sunday drive with the parents?
Hi to all, and Phil, never change.

Hey Mike,

stoked to hear of the progress and to read words from the horse's mouth...glad you didn't get mugged in your drive through the hutt!

good work on the walking front - had no idea so much balance was involved in walking....they'll be popping you on a beam in a gym soon with all the PB's you are achieving!

Heyya Mike. So a new business adventure has begun. Happys Hutt Valley Tours. Excellent!! Although I'm slightly disappointed to hear your not including Upper Hutt, given thats were all the action happens!!! :)

Spent today with Rich and Kylie in Cambridge seeing the sights and attempting to Punt. Indeed there was more than meets the eye to the technic, alas no life saver were required unlike a few others.

Keep the blogs posting, it's great to hear how your going. Keep it up.

Good work Mike

Glad to read that you were taken for a drive - and you weren't the one driving.

Sounds like everything is going well. Hope they can make a decent coffee in Wellington.

Hi Happy,

Brilliant to see you on Saturday evening. It was really good having a chat to catch up on the old HIBS' days. Good to see that trademark Happy grin. I realised it had been ages since we'd caught up.

Keep up the progress...soon you'll be driving us around.

Hi Mike, so good to hear of your progress man!! Was a bit scary a few months ago seeing you in hospital in Auckland, but I knew a young man with an attitude like yours just can't be held down!!

Keep up the good work and take care mate,

Neil VG

PS. Out on Maui-B at the moment...what is your economic viewpoint on NZ's energy crisis??

Hey Mike,
Wow great to hear about your progress. Can't wait to see you again in the next holidays. Sounds like I will be required to bring coffee with me or take you out to get it. It will be fantastic for you to get back in the pool again.
