We have some good news and some bad news for non-economists.
The good news is that Mike fell asleep last night while I was reading him an article from The Economist.
The bad news was that the article was not about economics. (It was about the differences between the sexes that might arise because the Y chromosone has only around 100 genes as against 1000 for the X chromosone. (Yes, females have two X chromosones, not two Y chromosones.))

No wonder Mike fell asleep - when you could have chosen to anwer that all-important question "Why Ask Jeeves" from this week's edition.....
But, as a non-economist, but old family friend - I support your choice of reading material. A more fascinating and wide-reaching publication which is small enough to carry discretely i cannot imagine.

We are avidly following your progress Mike. You are indeed fortunate to have such a fantastic family.
Glad the chest infection has cleared- they can be pretty miserable.
from Helen and Rodney and family. Vancouver.
Mike and I used to be ridiculed by our workmates when the librarian would email around the lead articles from The Economist and we would race to see who could be the first to print them out. Our workmates thought we were complete losers and we couldn't for the life of us work out why...
All of the First NZ Capital/CSFB/Jardens crew is following Mike's progress closely and wishes the best for him, Bryce, Lee and all the family.

Hi Mike
Please to read of your progress. Don't fall out of bed too often please. A bit of news from our place is that we have sold our home and move to a new apartment at the end of April. Jeremy and Rachel are still cruising around Nth America, having just arrived in Seattle. JB starts work in LA for PWC at the beginning of May. Nick and Rozy are in the UK now after a couple of months in Canada.
Keep making progress
