Just realised that no one had put up a post last night.
Mike is still working on memorising all the cards in his room, including the ones we've put up behind his head. He wants us to bring in all the cards he has received - I'm not sure if he realises how many those are. He can now read the messages in the cards himself and he is very good at recognising the postcards sent in daily by Mary and John from Japan.
He's eating pasta for lunch now, a big step towards a civilised diet. We're getting closer to a steak and chips, or what I think is Mike's most important goal: a Coke.

Mike,
Great to hear of your continued progress, I'm sure that the coke must sound pretty good by now! Keep up the great work.
Kim McArthur :)
Dear Mike,
We're about to leave on our walking weekend at Mangaweka ...'Weka Walks' at a farm near the Ruahine Range. It's just north of where Jo & Grant got married. It's a beautiful autumn day here in HB so hopefully it lasts as we head west over the Gentle Annie road. Tracy, Rob & offspring are spending the weekend in our house. I've just made them some Bowies Brown Stuff... a definiteTownsend requirement for a successful family get-together!
Good to hear that TJ's birthday went well with the runny cake. We're in admiration of your progress. Give your amazing ma & pa, sis, bro-in-law & bro hugs from us. Much love,
Jane & Gerald
We've been away for a week and this is the first chance since we went to check on the blog.
Mike's ongoing progress is so encouraging. We are so pleased. It must feel so great to get even a little independence back into your life after such a major setback.
Congratulations Mike on the achievements you've made. Congrats to all who helped.
K & J
